This was our fest attempt at cold pressed linseed oil smoothies when we needed to get omega-3 into my nephew. He was a very picky eater a the time so getting him eat anything different was challenging. We made it up with lots of extra linseed oil and to our amazement it went down a treat and he loved it and so did his brother, they quaffed it down almost before we could get a picture of our triumph.
Simple strawberry, banana and linseed omega-3 smoothie
Ingredients
- 30 ml Flax Farm cold-pressed linseed oil
- 25 g Flax Farm ground linseed
- 1 banana
- 250 ml orange juice
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and whizz to smooth.
Notes
It's banana and linseed oil that make this so deliciously creamy. Obviously you can vary the juice fruit combos almost infinitely; just start with 1-3 teaspoons of Flax Farm cold-pressed linseed oil and add:
- Mango and banana with pineapple juice
- Orange, banana and carrot juice
- Blackcurrant, banana and apple juice
