Nutritional Information
Flaxseed can be a great addition to the diet for dogs; it can have the same benefits as it does for people. A rich dietary source of insoluble and soluble fibre, lignans and omega-3 with of course a lovely succulent flavour that dogs find palatable. Especially good for the digestion and hormone balance. Good source of omega-3.
Original bronze Flaxseed. It has the same nutritional properties as the gold Flaxseed meal.
Feeding Flaxseed to your dog
Ensure the Flaxseed has absorbed enough liquid and then stir throughout feed.
How much to feed:
- For a medium spaniel-sized dog feed a couple of dessert spoons in usual meals. If your dog is overweight, remove a similar amount of the normal feed from the meal, and replace with the added ground Flaxseed.
- Larger and smaller dogs pro rata.
- Can be fed twice per day
Important: Dogs with sensitive digestions
- For dogs with sensitive digestion introduce very slowly, starting with no more than a small pinch on the first day. Then increase by a pinch or two per day until feeding the normal quantity.
Important: Always ensure dog’s meals are made thoroughly moist when adding the ground Flaxseed.
