Super Foods Make a Great Porridge
Today I my breakfast was a big bowl of Flax Farm’s new 10-Seeded Luxury Flaxseed & Buckwheat Porridge with Quinoa – the latest in our oat-free range. It’s made with ten amazing seeds that include ground Gold and Bronze Flaxseed, Buckwheat flakes, Millet and Quinoa Flakes, with Chia, Pumpkin and Hemp Seeds. Proper superfoods and all in one bowl!
I made it with unsweetened soya milk, which oddly I like a lot, but it would be delicious with any milk or alternative milk. Next time I’m going to make it with banana flax milk.
Apart from being technically a super-duper super-food – loads of good stuff and no naughties – and it’s really filling.
I’ve never been a porridge eater but this has converted me. it doesn’t taste very different from oat porridge, just yummier, richer, and somehow, cleaner tasting; it’s lovely.
Why oat-free porridge?
Firstly, it’s delicious.
Secondly, there is more nutrition in this ten seeded porridge – lots more of the important nutrients in all those super foods – and it’s more “plant foods” towards our Zoe goal of thirty a week – this is ten in one go and if you add in the soya milk that’s 11 in just one meal!
Thirdly, some people, I’m one of them, feel a whole lot better without eating oats every day. Read more about why avoiding oats – you don’t necessarily have to cut them out altogether can help your health.
