I’m not sure whether the best thing about this recipe is that it’s so much quicker and easier to make than conventional mousse, full of good linseedy things like fibre and omega-3, it’s got no sugar and is low GI, it fills you up, got no naughty fats, amazingly delicious or just a great healthy way to get your chocolate fix! Despite the banana being the base it doesn’t taste particularly of strongly of banana. If you want a treat try this for breakfast; it’s a lot healthier than other chocolate breakfasts!
Chocolate Linseed Mousse (Quick, Easy, Healthy & Delicious!)
A simple chocolate mousse that you can make in seconds. It's sugar-free, dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan.
The recipe is per person just increase quantities to make family sized quantities.
Vary the amounts of cocoa and sweetener depending on personal taste.
Ingredients
- 1 banana
- 1-2 rounded tsp Cocoa powder
- 1-2 tsp Flax Farm Cold-Pressed Linseed (Flaxseed) Oil
- 1-2 dessertspoons Flax Farm Ground Linseed (Flaxseed) or Bronze
- 15-20 drops Stevia liquid sweetening equivalent of 4 teaspoons sugar.
- 1 tsp honey Optional
- a few drops vanilla extract Optional
Optional Toppings
- A pinch Sliced almonds
- 1-2 dessertspoons Strawberries, raspberries or blueberries
- grated dark or white chocolate
Instructions
- Mash the banana, then add cocoa, ground linseed, cold-pressed linseed oil, stevia, vanilla and honey (if used) and mash further until well combined and smooth.
- If serving in another bowl transfer and top with almonds, berries or chocolate. Serve and enjoy.
Notes
If you want a stronger banana flavour use riper bananas.
Stevia drops provide a calorie-free sugar-free sweetener. Use 3-5 drops instead of one teaspoon of sugar's sweetening power.
