I have just had a chat with a customer who is using Flax Farm cold-pressed linseed (flaxseed) oil for the OMS diet, which is designed to balance the immune system, and he called it his elixir for health which was exactly the thought I had half an hour earlier when I poured some into my own breakfast and my dog’s breakfast.

This has been a big concern for many people during the pandemic, the lack of easy access to our usual health professionals. While waiting to get an appointment managing your own health more actively through diet and lifestyle can make a big difference.
It surprises people to discover how much difference a few simple lifestyle and dietary changes can make to your health and wellbeing. I found linseed and diet made me feel much better, this is why I created Flaxfarm in the first place.
Looking After Yourself: Things you can do to improve your health
I regularly speak with customers who have changed the course of their own health through diet and lifestyle. They have taught me a lot. I have seen my own health and that of others improve beyond imagination. For me and many others our Linseed: cold-pressed oil and ground, has been the biggest and easiest step to better health. Linseed (flax) made me feel so much better in surprising ways. Many of my problems just disappeared, including back, skin, anxiety and hormone problems.
That success spurred me on to make other adjustments which also helped and I have been very pleased with the results.
Improving my diet which is now lighter. delicious and lower carb. With little or no grains, little or no sugar, low dairy (I still sneak the odd bit of cheese) and has encouraged me to make lifestyle changes such as taking more exercise.
I started exercising slowly, in a learn to run group where I was easily the oldest by more than a decade. I am sure the linseed helped me come through it with no injuries. Happily, I am now than I have been in my whole life and loving it, it’s never too late to make improvements.
Exercise helps with aches and pains
I added workouts at the gym and yoga to my regime, now do both from online classes and they too help keep aches and pains at bay. Having taken to these activities at a relatively advanced age I find them easier than I would ever have expected which is probably because “linseed oil oils the joints” (quoting J. Sharp former Flax Farm market stall manager).
Linseed can help make you feel more like exercising.
My diet now has omega-3 from Flax Farm cold-pressed linseed oil, more fibre from ground linseed which is virtually carb-free and makes breakfasts, fruit and baking lower GI (Glycemic Index) I also eat more veggies, fewer carbs and less sugar and wow do I feel better for it! I have much more energy and feel better all over.
A knock-on effect of feeling better and not having a back problem is that I have more desire to take exercise and even find myself enjoying it more and the afterglow.
The latter I never experienced before I started using cold-pressed linseed oil and getting more omega-3.
Omega 3 re-balances dietary fats which help the bodywork more the way it should.
Easier weight control
As a consequence of more omega-3, which speeds up the rate you burn calories and ground linseed (with its high fibre content which makes meals filling) my appetite and cravings are now easier to control. Even though my home workouts aren’t as vigorous as classes at the gym I have only gained 0.5kg during lockdown,
